10 Ways to Successfully Prepare Your Child for College
High School to College Checklist
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
The FAFSA is a application that is used in determining student grants, work study, and load amounts and is also used to determine the amount of money a family is expected to contribute to the price of attending a postsecondary institution.
This application is critical because it is used for Federal Pell Grants and other financial aid offered by colleges and universities. You must apply separately for many scholarships.
Fill out the application completely and accurately, and be sure to get it in on time. Even a minor problem with the form could result in delays or the loss of financial assistance. FAFSA opens October 1 and closes on June 30 every year.
Federal Student Aid
Federal Student Aid, a part of the U.S. Department of Education, is the largest provider of student financial aid in the nation. The office of Federal Student Aid provides grants, loans and work-study funds for college or career school.
