Speech-Language Pathologist for Okay Public School District
I began my career as an SLP in 2002 at Shady Grove, Norwood and Lowrey Schools. I served all three schools on different days of the week for approximately 4-years. In 2006, I began contracting to Norwood and Lowrey Schools. In 2007 circumstances arose that force me to stop working for 1 1/2 years. In 2008 I was ready to return to work, however no SLP positions were available at that time. I served the youth population at Workforce Oklahoma and was also the Special Projects Director for Muskogee County Community Action, during the next several years.
Ft. GIbson school was in need of a substitute SLP and I was able to fill that position during the 20010-2011 School year. Shortly after School ended that year I learned that Okay was looking for an SLP and submitted my resume.
My definition of a Speech-Language Pathologist-A Grown-up kid. SLP's get to go to school, play with kids, play with kids and play with kids.
On a more serious note: I am blessed to have the opportunity to teach children. I love my career field and enjoy helping those that need help through what looks like play. Hopefully your child enjoys coming to speech as much as I enjoy having them in speech.
When not teaching; I enjoy riding 4-wheelers, boating, sponsoring cheer, yard work, dancing, music, traveling, trying new activities and LIFE.
